BAYtek Office Solutions helps local education provider boost productivity

The purchases included Canon’s award-winning cloud solution, uniFLOW Online, and smart devices from Canon’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE portfolio.
BAYtek Office Solutions is a high-quality photocopier, printer and digital transformation solution reseller, based in Newton Abbot, Devon. The organisation prides itself on its exceptional customer service, value proposition and ethical operations, and works closely with local companies and the education sector across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
For the last 11 years, BAYtek Office Solutions has been a valued Canon Partner and recently, due to its increased growth and widening digital portfolio, has been elevated to Gold Partner status. Eat That Frog, a Community Interest Company at the heart of the South West community, was established in 2011 and offers bespoke education to young learners, who may have struggled to thrive in mainstream schools or colleges. The organisation also provides adult education to help retrain people who are low waged, unemployed, or are looking for new opportunities. Eat That Frog has a strong local and ethical focus and offers both distance learning and face-to-face lessons from a number of centres across the region.
Eat That Frog approached BAYtek Office Solutions, when it was looking to purchase new technology to ease and enrich the learning experiences it offers. The organisation was aware the colour consistency of its printing was lacking, and that significant productivity losses were taking place due to printer downtime. It also purchased a number of devices from Canon’s imageRUNNER ADVANCE portfolio, which allows print from anywhere functionality as well as full document security and controlled print management through uniFLOW Online. This printer range also provides impressive colour quality, performance, and consistency whilst digitalising documents and streamlining document capture.
The installation of the new technology has allowed Eat That Frog to see instant productivity gains. Printer downtime has been optimised, whilst less paper is wasted due to uniFLOW Online’s ability to only release what is needed whilst fully tracking print costs. This has allowed for departmental printing costs to be closely measured.
This streamlining of print procedures through uniFLOW Online has also helped Eat That Frog improve its environmental impact. With the solution offering finishing options that can be changed at the device before printing, reprinting and false output is avoided. uniFLOW Online also eliminates ‘Always On’ print servers, which is helping to reduce the amount of power used across the organisation’s print infrastructure.
