FAQ: How do I change the fax number and name on my laserfax L2000 / L2000IP?

Follow the procedure below to register the number and your (company's) name of your own fax machine.

  1. Open all three one-touch speed dialing panels.
    (The panels can be found on the right hand side in the middle.)
  2. Press [Data Registration].
  3. Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow key until "3.FAX SETTINGS" is shown on the display.
  4. Press [OK].
  5. Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow key until "1.USER SETTINGS" is shown on the display.
  6. Press [OK].
  7. Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow key until "1.TEL LINE SETTINGS" is shown on the display.
  8. Press [OK].
  9. Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow key until "1.USER TEL NO." is shown on the display.
  10. Press [OK].
  11. Enter the units telephone number (up to 20 digits) using the numeric keys.
    (The units telephone number is the telephone number of your own machine.)
  12. Press [OK].
    (The message "DATA ENTRY OK" will be shown on the LCD display for a few seconds.)
  13. Press [Data Registration] to return to the "USER SETTINGS".
  14. Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow key until "2.UNIT NAME" is shown on the display.
  15. Press [OK].
  16. Enter the units name (up to 24 characters) using the numeric keys.

    Note:
    You can enter letters, in upper or lower case, and numbers. In the upper right corner of the LCD display you should see the letter A. This means you are in the upper case letter entry mode. Press the "Asterisk" (*) key on the numeric keypad to switch the entry mode.

  17. Press [OK].
    (The message "DATA ENTRY OK" will be shown on the LCD display for a few seconds.)
  18. Press [Stop] to return to the Standby mode.
