Canon European Projector Warranty

This is a commercial end-customer warranty offered by Canon Europa N.V., Bovernkerkerweg 59, 1185 XB, Amstelveen, The Netherlands (“Canon”) to the end-customers, who purchase Canon projectors for their own use, but not acting as consumers under the local laws of the country where the Projectors are purchased.

If you are a consumer, you are not entitled to this warranty, but your consumer's statutory rights under applicable national legislation in force will apply to you.

These Terms and Conditions and the offer herein shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

This Canon European Projector Warranty is comprised of different service offerings and the offering that is applicable to you is determined by your location; the projector that you have purchased and when you purchased the product. The service offerings are as follows:

Projector Enhanced Warranty Loan Service


Canon Projectors intended for sale and purchased within the European Economic Area (“EEA” – namely EU, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway) plus Switzerland - “Territory”, are covered by the Canon European Projector Warranty. Canon warrants that should the new projector be found to be defective within the applicable warranty period, the fault is resolved free of charge (terms & conditions apply – see below). The Canon Projector Enhanced Warranty Loan Service has further territorial and projector limitations. For the details see the section on Canon Projector Enhanced Warranty Loan Service below.

For any product, outside of the applicable warranty terms or period and for damage or repairs not covered by the warranty, a chargeable repair service is available and can be obtained by returning the projector to any Canon authorised service centre.

This warranty will be your sole and exclusive remedy, and neither Canon nor its subsidiaries or other European Projector Warranty members shall be liable for any incidental or consequential damages for breach of any express or implied warranty of this product.

Q: What warranty is applicable on Canon projector products purchased within Europe?

A: In general, Canon offers the European Projector Warranty for products purchased in:-

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Q: What information regarding warranty should I find in the box when I purchase a Canon product?

A: For projector warranty applicable European countries, each projector will generally contain a European Projector Warranty card in the box. This will look similar to the following example:


Q: Is it necessary for me to complete and return any documentation to Canon in order to register my European Projector Warranty?

A: It is not necessary for you to return any documentation to Canon in order to register for the European Projector Warranty. If you wish to specifically request a warranty repair under the European Projector Warranty then it will always be necessary for you to provide Canon with the original valid proof of purchase (including original date of purchase) for the projector in question.


Q: What documentation is required in order to make claim a European Projector Warranty repair?

A: If you wish to specifically request a warranty repair under the European Projector Warranty then it will always be necessary for you to provide Canon with the original valid proof of purchase (including original date of purchase) for the projector in question. Promotional warranty offerings may also specify further requirements, so please refer to the specific Terms & Conditions of any promotional offers (if applicable)


Q: How long is a typical Canon European Projector Warranty valid for?

A: In general, Canon projector products are offered with a 3 or 5 year warranty. Exceptions can and do apply, please refer to the entitlement tab for further information.


Q: If I buy a Canon projector outside of the countries for which Canon offers the European Projector Warranty, will my projector still be covered by the European Projector Warranty if I am resident in a European Projector Warranty member country?

A: Details regarding the specific warranty offered per projector will generally be contained in the projector box. In general, products will be covered by a warranty that applies to their specific sales region and it will be necessary for end-customers to return any products to the applicable region in order to claim a warranty repair. Canon does not generally offer a global warranty unless specifically mentioned for specific products / regions.


Projector Enhanced Warranty Loan Service

Q: Where is the Projector Enhanced Warranty Loan Service available?

A: The service is only available in the following eligible countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

As of 01.01.2016, end-customers in Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania are eligible for the Projector Enhanced Warranty Loan Service. Within these countries, the service can only be requested for eligible projector models that are purchased on or after 01.01.2016.


Q: Who can initiate the Projector Enhanced Warranty Loan Service?

A: Either the end-customer or their seller can initiate the process, upon finding a fault with the product. The loan projector will be dispatched once a faulty projector is diagnosed (subject to the full terms and conditions) and the offer of a loan unit has been accepted.


Q: Who do I contact to initiate the Projector Enhanced Warranty Loan Service?

A: End-customers or their seller should contact the relevant local Canon Helpdesk. Canon will capture all relevant information (i.e. fault details) and perform first level investigation of the possible cause. If the fault persists, then Canon second level support will contact the end-customer or seller. If fault diagnosis is confirmed and repair is recommended, then a like-for-like projector (or a projector of greater specification) is offered as a loan unit.


Q: How long will it take for the Loan Projector to be delivered?

A: Wherever possible, the loan projector will be provided the day after the loan is requested, where such a request is made before 11:00 am and two days after when such a request is received after 11:00am, on a weekend or on a public holiday.


Q: Where will the Loan Projector be delivered to?

A: Loan projectors are available for delivery either to the Seller or directly to the End-customer (where the End-customer has the technical knowledge to perform installation work).


Q: What happens after the loan projector is received?

A: After receiving the loan projector, the Seller or End-customer is then responsible for ensuring that the faulty projector is returned to Canon. Shipping labels will be provided for the return of the faulty projector and it should be placed in the shipping carton provided. The shipping company must be contacted in order to arrange the collection of the faulty projector as soon as possible. Under normal conditions, the cost of shipping will be covered by Canon.


Q: What happens after the faulty projector is repaired?

A: The Seller or End-customer is responsible for ensuring that the loan projector is returned to Canon within 5 days of the repaired unit being returned. Shipping labels will be provided for the return of the loan projector and it should be placed in the shipping carton provided. The shipping company must be contacted in order to arrange the collection of the loan product. Under normal conditions, the cost of shipping will be covered by Canon.


Q: Who is responsible for removing the faulty projector and re-installing it after the repair is completed?

A: Canon will not be responsible for the removal or re-installation of the original projector. This is the responsibility of the End-customer or their Seller.


Q: Who is responsible for installing the loan projector and removing it after the repair is completed?

A: Canon will not be responsible for the installation or removal of the loan projector. This is the responsibility of the End-customer or their Seller.


Q: What are the implications if the loan unit is lost, damaged or stolen?

A: Canon offers loan projectors to End-customers or their Sellers subject to Canon’s standard Loan Terms which they will be deemed to have accepted if they accept the offer of a loan projector under the Projector Enhanced Warranty Loan Service. End-customers or their Sellers must ensure that each and every item loaned is returned in the same condition as supplied and are responsible for any loss, damage or theft of any loan equipment and may be required to reimburse Canon for repair or replacement. End-customers or their Sellers are advised to consider taking out suitable insurance to cover any equipment on loan to them.
