What began as a company dealing solely in the import and sales of magnetic substrates in 1985 – selling to printers, designers and advertising companies – was soon to become a leading global player in the manufacture and distribution of flexible magnetic materials to large retail chains and the sign supply market.
A takeover in 1998 by Marco de Wert, now Managing Director, coupled with a radical transformation of the business model in 2009 and the introduction of new UV flatbed printer technology from Canon, swiftly took the Sanders Group in a whole new direction – future-proofing the company, opening up diverse opportunities to attract high-margin work and fundamentally changing the production process of printed magnetic products.
"The Océ Arizonas have changed my company. During the financial crisis, many other companies went under, but these machines allowed me to make more money with less turnover. Essentially my turnover went down but my margin went up as I turned the material I once traded into something of a higher value. I was able to fulfil a demand in the market for short turnaround times, bespoke applications and creative solutions."
