A session of all-action Radball, best described as football on bikes, was the perfect opportunity to let Canon Ambassador Brent Stirton try out the new EOS 5D Mark III.

Shot on EOS 5D Mark III; EF400mm f/2.8L IS II USM, Exposure 1/250sec, f/4, ISO 6,400
Was the shot staged? The framing almost looks like an advert for the bicycle maker.
Canon was making a movie to illustrate the EOS 5D Mark III’s video, this is just a snap of a rider waiting for the crew to set their shot. (Watch the video here) Would you have been able to take this photo without flash before the EOS 5D Mark III?
I would not have had faith in the file but as you can see ISO 6,400 is no problem on the EOS 5D Mark III. This, combined with the sensor quality and the size of the individual pixels, opens up a new range of possibilities for me. Have you shot Radball previously?
I’d never heard of Radball before! Lens-wise, Canon brought everything but I just used the ones I normally do:
• EF 35mm f/1.4L USM
• EF 50mm f/1.2L USM
• EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM
• EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM
• EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM
