The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Award The Sunday Times Best Green Companies Awards is a project designed to encourage, acknowledge and publicise businesses and other organisations which are striving to improve their environmental performance. In 2009, Canon came fourth in the "Best Big/Mid sized companies with Medium environmental impact" category and 32nd overall in the UK's Top 60 companies demonstrating 'green' behaviour. Judges looked at how engaged employees were with company aims and whether organisations 'practised what they preached'. Our workforce believes that Canon's environmental commitments are serious (89%) and Canon people believe strongly that green initiatives are not a waste of money (91%).

Canon finalist at Green Business Awards

Green Business Awards 2009 The Green Business Awards - also known as the "Green Globes" - are one of the most prestigious benchmarks of environmental excellence for companies in the UK. The aim of the awards is to discover and recognise the most innovative, ambitious and effective initiatives by UK business for achieving environmental sustainability, cutting greenhouse gas emissions and implementing green business practices.
Canon entered the awards for the first time in 2009 in the 'Overall Environmental Management' (250+ employees) category and achieved a 'Finalist' position in recognition of our environmental management system processes, our achievements in managing our environmental impacts and our commitment towards reducing our overall carbon emissions.

Reader’s Digest Most Trusted European Brands Survey 2010 - Canon celebrates a decade of being voted 'most trusted' camera brand

Readers' Digest Most Trusted Survey 2010 Canon has been voted as Europe's top camera brand for the tenth consecutive year in the Reader's Digest Most Trusted Brand Survey 2010 - an annual pan-European survey of consumer attitudes to brand products and services. A total of 32,000 responses from readers in 16 European countries were analysed with the brand being rated on Quality, Excellent Value, Strong Image and Understanding Customer Needs. Canon was one of only three brands nominated as 'most trusted' and came out on top in 14 of the 16 countries.

Top 50 Where Women Want to Work 2009

The Times Where Women Want to Work 2009 Canon UK & Ireland was listed in The Times 'Focus Report' supplement as qualifying for the UK TOP 50 list of organisations Where Women Want to Work, selected from organisations with more than 1,000 employees. This means we share a position in the TOP 50 alongside other big global organisations including HSBC Bank, Accenture, Microsoft UK, Hewlett-Packard and PepsiCo UK & Ireland.
The TOP 50 is not about organisations for women or jobs for the girls. Nor is the rise of women about the fall of men. The TOP 50 is about providing insightful information about 50 of the UK’s largest and most progressive employers. Both women and men can now research and compare organisations based on their own needs and interests before choosing where to work.

UK Business Superbrands survey results

Business Superbrands Canon came 114th out of 500 companies in the Superbrands survey 2009. The UK's strongest B2B brands for 2009 were selected by the Business Superbrands Council and thousands of individual business professionals on the YouGov panel. wins two Top 10 Awards for 2009 from 'Hitwise'

Twice a year, Hitwise awards the 10 most popular websites across some of their 160+ categories. From July to December 2009, was ranked No. 9 in the Hitwise 'Business and Finance - Electronics' and No. 10 in the 'Computers and Internet - Electronics' industries. The awards were based on market share of visits among all United Kingdom websites.

ISO 14001 Certification

ISO 14001:2004 System Certification Awarded to: Canon Group 2 in November 2006 (UK&I, Austria, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal). Canon Group has successfully received ISO14001 consolidated certificate as a result of the external audits implemented this year. ISO 9001 Certificate Canon UK & Ireland holds the BSI Certificate of Registration for ISO 9001/2008 - Quality Management System for the installation, repair and maintenance of IT equipment and systems installed in offices and similar locations and the design of training modules for internal and external customer training.
