Canon launches innovative top-of-range LV projector

United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, 1st June 2011 – Canon has today unveiled the latest flagship projector in its ultra-portable LV series. Featuring split-screen functions, a 1.6 x zoom lens and supporting HDMI (high definition picture inputs such as Blu-ray), the Canon LV-8320 is Canon’s most sophisticated and flexible LV projector to date.

  • Canon’s flexible LV-8320 offers compatibility with many high resolution digital devices, innovative split screen options and a 1.6 x zoom lens

The LV-8320 offers sharp image detail and bright, clear projections with a brightness of 3000 lumens, and its widescreen resolution (1280 x 800 pixels) complements presentations from laptops and other widescreen sources.

Combining high performance with portability, the Canon LV-8320 is a highly flexible device.  Its 1.6 x zoom lens means that the device can project 100-inch images between distances of 2.5m and 4.1m, giving users more choice over where the projector is installed or positioned.  This makes the LV-8320 ideal for most environments, even in rooms that have obstructions such as existing furniture in view or air conditioning vents on a ceiling.

The LV-8320 also includes the widest range of ports of any ultra-portable LV model, meaning that users can present from digital devices including; PCs and video drives, DVDs and Blu-ray players, digital cameras and digital video cameras.

For the first time, Canon customers will be able to view projections in a split screen mode, to add interest to presentations.  Users can choose ‘picture in picture,’ where a small section of one picture is projected within a larger main projection, or ‘picture by picture,’ where the screen is split into equal halves. This function allows users to refer to, for example, a video or document, without switching from their presentation.

The LV-8320 also includes a built-in 10 Watt speaker and a stereo audio line out for connection to an external amplifier for enhanced sound quality.

The Canon LV-8320 features improved energy efficiency, with an intelligent lamp control system to reduce power consumption. This technology automatically adjusts lamp output according to the brightness of the projected image, with correction technology balancing colour reproducibility. The projector also has an extended lamp life of up to 5000 hours, a filter that boasts a service life of up to 5500 hours and a power consumption of less than 1W in standby mode[1].

Julian Rutland, Canon’s Visual Communication Product and Solutions Director says: “The LV-8320 is one of the most innovative projectors available within a price range that is still accessible to small to medium-sized businesses, schools and colleges.  We’re developing our technology to meet ever-evolving customer needs and as we have proved with our existing line up of LV products, there is a Canon projector solution for every business environment.”

As with all LV models, the Canon LV-8320 is a cost-effective device. It is also extremely portable with a compact and lightweight design, at just 3.4kg.
